Jim is out and about…

…well, kind of! He is using an old fashioned walker that he bumps along in front of him — then follows with a big HOP!!! He can move around – but no one better be chasing him as he will lose everytime.

Today he made his first excursion to the gallery. He is perched on the front porch waiting for folks to come by. It is a strangely quiet Saturday!

I bet if you came by the gallery, he’d let you sign his cast!!!

Where’s Jim? (and what’s with the crazy hours…)

All dressed and nowhere to go!

On June 12th, Jim had some much needed surgery on his foot.  The surgery went well and we are all hoping it will help him walk better in the future.  But, for now — he can put no weight on his foot for 6 weeks.  Currently he is at home propped up in an oversize recliner which is doubling as his bed.  Actually it is not a bad life – he is getting waited on hand and foot.  Even Elvis, our yellow lab is being ultra considerate to dear Jim.

So, that leaves me – Ellen – to deal with all things home, farm, work, and gallery.  Yikes! So, if I am a bit late to open the gallery, it means I am chasing goats, chickens, and alpacas at home.  If I have to close early, it means a doctors appointment for Jim.

I will try to anticipate any nudges in the gallery schedule.  I will post to both facebook, twitter, and our website.  Hopefully once he gets a more substantial cast on his foot, I can park Jim at the gallery and still tend the animals at home!

Whooeee…what a ride!
