Hi Ellen and Jim:
Talked to Jim recently about returning in May or June. I know you mentioned I would be welcome to come back. I think the gallery looks great and the food is wonderful.
Lately I have been doing a lot prints all different sizes, 5 x 7, 8 x 10. 12 x 18, etc.
Also, have a line of 10 different cards. Would also be interested in teaching a watercolor class in the summer. How did the classes go???
Let me know about space availability. Would like to do cards and prints of the grand isle art works. Thanks- Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
I have a show at Dartmouth-Hitchcock- You are both welcome to come to reception on January 12 at 4:30 - Level 4 - Chilcott lounge -Rubin Bldg.
Also, saw Randy at Whisper Hill today. Bought some soap and creams.
He has been carrying my work for many years.

Steak and Brie Panini
An artist's date can be anything that comforts your inner child. Today I happened upon a luxurious experience for my pouting artist. My kitchen is under construction and I am so tired of yoghurt, toast or crackers and cheese. These things must be accepts as in process, but it is almost as bad as cafeteria food, which is too horrid to integrate with the following.

Sometimes it is imperative to indulge in sensuous food, made just for you. For those of you living in San Francisco or Montreal, lower the sneer that comes from having great coffee, crusty bread and luscious food available on almost every corner. That is not the case on the Western Shore of New England, the Champlain Islands. Bread is usually white and a squishy as a marshmallow, even toasted. I have been lucky enough to find an absolute treasure in the Kitchen Door Cafe which cozies in the Grand Isle Artworks..

The owner, Jeanne, bakes bread every day. Rich dense tasty bread with just the right tooth to it. Focaccia is split and toasted into a seasonal panini. Today I indulged in half a steak and brie panini. It is so good that is qualifies as more of a decadent treat than an actual meal. Vegans and Vegetarians will please forgive me, this is update from the formerly classic 1950's steak towering with butter and blue cheese. Experience a panini equally over the top, unabashedly rich brie oozing brie over slices of perfectly done beef . Sun November, blue skies in Vermont and an exquisitely locally made lunch at a reasonable price - amazing. My only regret is that I am not able to eat a chocolate chip cookie too. Maybe tomorrow. Then you could join me...

Today is a Vermont Life Day on the Champlain Islands. Sunny lemon rays coming out of a clear crisp sky. The tart sweet sir bustles to celebrate the encore of walking days and fall colourful adieu. Grand Isle Artworks is open with the cozy Backdoor Cafe to welcome visitors and locals. Be sure to check out the yummy yarns and hand turned needles for your luxury fiber products.

Indian Summer is in full force on the Champlain Islands. The trees are just beginning to turn the glaze of peaches in solo performances against a million shades of green. Frolicking annual flowers lead a valiant chorus line to hold off the killing frost. Lounging on the deck, couples loosen their jackets and indulge, while basking in a second dip of summer - deep sunbath.

Come enjoy a luscious meander through the Champlain Islands' Harvest Festival, formerly the Apple Fest. As you motor on Route 2 and enticing byways, please be sure see the Grand Isle Art Works and Kitchen Door Cafe. Their three season's deck offers a cozy place to catch the fleeting magenta's tickle of late season corn along the back of the gallery and cafe.

New Spring Yellow Green is shopping and lunching or noshing close to home and supporting our amazing local purveyors of fine baked goods, exotic special feast days and of course always a gallery with some of the finest in Vermont Artisans.

The Grand Isle Art Works is erupting with the earthy scent authentic focaccia bread fresh from the oven. I wish you were here right now to share a slice with rich deep steaming coffee. Meeting friends in a wonderful art gallery, while sharing fresh artisanal bread ... I have to go to call a friend to meet me right now. Come catch a cuppa too.

Caramelized roasted peppers, sweet and exotically spicey ... yum. Locals, summer residents and friends and the odd gypsy traveler, you will not want to miss this special culinary event at the Back Door Cafe. The chef has lived in the Southwest and knows what she is about, when is comes to making peppers tasty, not bitey. The smell of bread baked fresh daily is distracting me just now, but September 4th I will be sure to stake out a claim on a deck table to watch the acres of tasseled corn tickle the rows of mature trees, as I treat my Sweetie Pie to a sensual pepper feast. (Even native Vermonters are easily converted to the Cult of the Roasted Pepper.)
